2009 - 2010 Defensemen Preseason Preview Coming
Niklas Lidstrom

Cellios is good, but Lidstrom
is the real backbone of this team. |
8. Andrei Markov - Canadiens - 2009 Preview:
Markov is one of the safest picks a fantasy hockey owner
can make. Las season me tallie a whopping 50 plus assists for the
Canadiens, although he was a -2. Montreal's team should imporve
and this always helps the +/- rating of premeir defensemen improve,
as well.
2008 -2009 Statistics:
Goals 12 - Assists 52 - Pts. 64
2009 - 10
Projection: Goals
9 - Assists 44 - Pts. 53
9. Dan Boyle -Sharks - 2009 Preview:
Boyle is just one of many offensive threats presented by the San
Jose Sharks. He had nearly 60 points last season, but only a +/-
rating of 6. This is a bit of a concern considering he played on
the team wich boasted the league's best record, capturing the President's
trophy.
2008 -2009 Statistics:
Goals 16 - Assists 41 - Pts. 57
2009 - 10
Projection: Goals
13 - Assists 38 - Pts. 51
10.Sergei Gonchar - Penguins - 2009 Preview:
Gonchar was hurt for the majority of the season last year and his
numbers relfect that. This season Gonchar is healthy and his one
of the most productive offensive defenseman in the last 10 years.
The Penguins and Gonchar make their money on the power play and
expect Gonchar to cash in lthis year as in years past.
2008 -2009 Statistics:
Goals 3 - Assists 7 - Pts. 10
2009 - 10
Projection: Goals
13 - Assists 32 - Pts. 45
