2009 - 2010 Right Wing Preseason Preview
Jarome Iginla
|
 |
The improving Flames offense
should put 100 points insight for Iggy in '09-10. |
1. Jarome Iginla - Flames - 2009 - 2010 Preview:
Iginla came up just shy of 90 points last season, but the
Flames became a better team over the off season and that should
help Iginla's fantasy value. There shouldn't be much convincing
needed to take Iginlas as the number one right winger in fantasy
hockey
.
2008 - 09 Statistics:
Goals 35 - Assists 54 - Pts. 89
2009 - 2010
Projection: Goals 42 - Assists
49 - Pts. 91
2. Corey Perry - Ducks - 2009 - 2010 Preview:
The Ducks have a great mix of veterans and young skaters
to make a lot of noise out west again. Corey Perry is expected to
put up huge numbers, just as Getzlaf's expectations were raised
quite rapidly. And jus like Getzlaf, I anticipate Perry delivering
for the Ducks and fantasy hockey owners.
2008
- 09 Statistics: Goals 32 - Assists
40 - Pts. 72
2009 - 2010 Projection:
Goals 37 - Assists 44 - Pts. 81
3. Martin St. Louis - Lightning - 2009 - 2010 Preview:
Martin St. Louis should be skating alongside second year
man Steven Stamkos to start the season. These two were paired up
in the second half of the season and Stamkos' point total began
to take off. If the chemistry isn't the same as it was at the end
of the season, then St. Louis plays with LeCavlier again. Either
way, he's on the power play and will be skating with premier talent.
He played in all 82 last season with the Lightning and potted his
30 goal minimum.
2008
- 09 Statistics: Goals 30 - Assists
50 - Pts. 89
2009 - 2010
Projection: Goals 36 - Assists
45 - Pts. 81
4. Marion Hossa - Blackhawks - 2009 - 2010 Preview:
I don't want to turn this on into a Chicago article, but
Hossa has changed everything in Chi-Town. He may not be the saving
grace come playoffs, but for fantsy owners he should be a homerun.
If injuries don't come into play, Hossa should easily see 70 points
this season.
2008
- 09 Statistics: Goals 40 - Assists
31 - Pts. 71
2009 - 2010
Projection: Goals 37 - Assists

5. Patrick Kane - Blackhawks - 2009 - 2010 Preview:
Forgert about the cabbie incident. The kid will be doing his
thing again this year for Chicago and will find the back of the
net with a bit more regularity. The power play is going to be
a wild card this year in Chicago with Hossa now in town. Kane
is a definite top 10 right winger for fantasy hockey owners.
2008
- 2009 Statistics: Goals 25 -
Assists 45 - Pts. 83
2009 - 2010 Projection:
Goals 32 - Assists 48 - Pts. 80
6. Martin Havlat - Oilers - 2009 - 2010 Preview:
Havlat had a sensational season playing with young guns in
Chicago last season. His numbers will probably dip slightly, as
he won't be skating with quite the talent in Edmonton. However,
Edmonton has a very sound team this season and Hvlat will contribute
to the team's playoff push. Havlat was also a plus 29!
2008
- 09 Statistics: Goals 29 - Assists
48 - Pts. 77
2009 - 2010
Projection: Goal 26 - Assists
47 - Pts. 73
7. Marion Gaborik - Rangers - 2009 - 2010 Preview:
Gaborik is skating into the Big Apple as their next face
of the franchise. He was one of the most coveted free agents this
off season and expectations are always high in New York. My theory
is if you can score in Minnesota's Jacque Lamaire's put you sleep
hokey system, you can score anywhere.
2008 - 09 Statistics:
Goals 21- Assists 51 - Pts. 72
2009 - 2010 Projection:
Goals 27 - Assists 54 - Pts. 81
